About Earth Extremes

Earth Extremes shows the coldest and the hottest city on Earth right now, with your own temperature in the middle. One glance and you know where you stand on the planet: while you have 4° in Oslo, Oymyakon in Siberia may be at -29° and Teresina in Brazil at 37°.

A cold-to-hot arc runs along the bottom of the watch face, from ice blue to ember red. The white dot on the arc shows where your temperature sits between the two extremes. Close to the blue end you are almost as cold as the coldest city on Earth, close to the red end almost as hot as the hottest.

Live from about 300 cities: Siberia, the Arctic, Canada, Alaska, Greenland, Mongolia, Patagonia and the Andes on the cold side; the Gulf, the Sahara and the Sahel, Pakistan and India, the Australian outback, the US Southwest and South America on the hot side. The extremes are updated every hour with real weather data and shown with one decimal. Only places where people live are included, so you will not see research stations in Antarctica.

Your own temperature and place name come from the Garmin weather on your phone, so the watch face needs no GPS. Until the first update arrives (for example right after installing, or without a connection) the watch face shows a typical cold and hot city of the season.

Temperatures in °C or °F: by default the watch face follows your watch setting, or you can pick one in the settings.

Below the temperatures there is one data field of your choice (default: steps). Touch and hold the screen to switch to the data screen with 10 data fields. Touch and hold again to go back.
